Ukrainian Canadian Congress Toronto

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress Toronto Branch serves as a vital advocacy and coordination hub for the Ukrainian Canadian community in Toronto, ON and the Greater Toronto Area. Representing 73 member organizations spanning diverse demographics and interests, UCC-Toronto works to strengthen Ukrainian Canadian participation in Canadian social and cultural life while promoting democratic principles of justice, freedom, and independence. The organization focuses on several key service areas: representing the Ukrainian Canadian community before government and public institutions, facilitating friendly relations between Canada and Ukraine, supporting Ukraine's development as an independent and democratic state, and preserving Ukrainian culture and language as integral components of Canada's multicultural fabric. UCC-Toronto also provides crucial support to Ukrainian Canadian elderly, disadvantaged youth, immigrants, and refugees through cooperative efforts with community agencies. With over 100,000 Canadians of Ukrainian background residing in Toronto alone, the organization coordinates projects, events, and initiatives that address community needs and foster cultural development. Through its elected Board of Directors and member organization representatives, UCC-Toronto maintains democratic governance while advancing objectives that include community planning, social and economic improvement, and promoting tolerance and goodwill across all segments of Toronto's diverse society.
