Ukrainian Canadian Congress Ontario Provincial Council

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress Ontario Provincial Council (UCC-OPC) serves as the authoritative representative and coordinating body for the Ukrainian Canadian community throughout Ontario, including Ottawa, ON. Operating through an extensive network of local branches spanning Bradford, Durham Region, Hamilton, Lanark County, London, Niagara Region, North Bay, Ottawa, Peterborough-Kawarthas, Sault Ste Marie, Toronto, Waterloo-Wellington, Woodstock, and Windsor, the UCC-OPC strengthens community participation in Canadian social and cultural life while promoting democratic principles of justice, freedom, and independence.

The organization's core functions include representing organized Ukrainian Ontarians before provincial government and people, fostering friendly relations between Canada and Ukraine, and supporting Ukraine's democratic and state development. The UCC-OPC identifies and addresses the specific needs of Ontario's Ukrainian community—currently comprising more than 376,440 individuals as of November 2024—ensuring continued cultural existence and development. The council actively plans community-wide initiatives, maintains and enhances Ukrainian culture and language as integral elements of Canada's multicultural mosaic, and cooperates with agencies to improve social, economic, and cultural conditions for Ukrainian Canadians, including elderly, disadvantaged, youth, and immigrant populations. Through educational materials, learning opportunities, and community programming, the UCC-OPC promotes tolerance, understanding, and goodwill across all segments of Ontario's diverse society, contributing meaningfully to Canada's socio-cultural fabric.
